Like I'm Not Going to Mention THIS Story
The MSM had been mostly ignoring Kerry's many many many stupid gaffes over the past year. Hilariously, most of them occured when he tried (it was excruciating, I'm sure) to portray himself as a "regular guy".Now WaPo has written an article about some gaffes that happened weeks and months ago, ...the media loves to pile-on.
The article centered around Kerry thinking Lambeau field was actually "Lambert" field, but used it as a jumping off point to discuss Kerry's bigger image problem.
His other funny sports gaffe, which I mentioned before, was going to Michigan and talking about how great "Buckeye football" was. The problem is that the Buckeyes play at Ohio State, one of the Wolverines most hated rivals. Reports from the event said a chorus of audible "Boos" informed Kerry he had made the gaffe.
The point is not that you should not support Kerry because he's snooby, out-of-touch, European-wannabe (or maybe it is), ...it just speaks to his phonyness.
The article also has some interesting tidbits, ...Richard Nixon considered Vince Lombardi as his running mate in 1968, and in 1955 Ted Kennedy was a talented pro-prospect that was of high interest to the Packers.
Also this:In the end, it's the Packers' score -- more than the Packers vote -- that could determine Kerry's fate. In the past 18 presidential elections, if the Redskins lost or tied the last game before the election, the party in the White House lost, too. The Redskins' opponent Oct. 31: the Packers, but not at Lambert, er, Lambeau Field.
I think the outcome of the election is already decided, so (as always) I'll still be pulling for the Pack on Oct 31.
