The Verdict is Pretty Clear

Couch has not done enough to even win the 3rd string QB spot.

He had another mediocre night, dumping off most of his passess to runing backs near the line of scrimmage. He had a number of passes batted down at the line, AGAIN. He looked weak, again.

He failed to move the team, to make good decisions, or make any good passes.

Let there be no doubt, ...if Couch ends up on the Packers roster, Sherman should be immediately fired.

Not just because Couch is no more qualified to be a QB than John Kerry is to be president, but because (like the presidential race) there is a much better candidate.

Craig Nall has a nice game. He looked motivated, sharp, confident. He dropped back quick, got the ball out on rhythm, and made accurate, decisive throws. He moved the team into the red zone, only to toss an int in the end zone.

But it's not like he's gunning for a spot as starter. We're talking 3rd string here. If we need to start our 3rd stringer at some point, we're toast anyway. Nall at least gives us a chance to compete in a game where Favre and Peterson may have gone down.

Couch does not.

At this point I can't imagine why anyone would even consider giving him the 3rd slot.

If I find out later this week that Sherman cut Nall for Couch, the sheer density of explitives on this page will get my website shut down.

Only a fool would go for Couch at this point. Sherman is now on the clock.
