First Batman Trailer is Out

Check it out here.

Looks good, but they don't show enough for me to go ape-shit over at this point. It does give you a good idea about the focus of the movie.

It had been billed as a "Batman: Year One" type of movie. Fans will remember the sepia-toned "Batman: Year One" comic from the late 80's/early 90's, ...but this movie seems to go back even further in time.

Perhaps the childhood/growing up of young Bruce Wayne will get heavier treatment.

I hope they don't over-do it with the mysticism and symbolism. Batman has always been about intellect and focused anger, not about mysticism and magic.

The "Year One" comics were brilliant because they showed Bruce Wayne struggle with his early battles against evil, ...taking small steps, testing the waters, learning his craft, ...and making mistakes.

Before Batman became an almost inhuman, stoic perfectionist, ...he was a unsure, earnest, gutsy young man.

I hope these traits make it into the movie, due out next summer.
