Launch

Lately I've been trying out the free, customizable internet radio station on Yahoo's Launch service. It's actually pretty neat.

And it's FREE.

You just sign in with your Yahoo ID, select some genres and bands, and let Launch select songs for you. For each song that they play, you can rate the song, artist, and album. The more ratings you provide, the more Launch begins to figure out your tastes. If you don't like a song or artist that they play, you can tell Launch not to play it again. Over time, the playlist becomes as varied as your own tastes.

A good example, the last three songs it played for me were Harvester of Sorrow by Metallica, Blue Monday by New Order, and an old song by CCR.

It mixes in things it knows you will like with songs you may not have heard, so it's more interesting that an mp3 list, ...and far superior to a regular radio station.

You can listen to my station here.
